Having survived table layouts, the browser wars, 26k dial-up internet speeds, and Flash, Shane Helm knows a thing or two about about designing for the web.

Shane designed his first website in 1997 and his continual quest for creativity and innovation has lead to various accolades along the way–including being featured in The Web Designer’s Idea Book in 2008 and winning a Gold Pollie Award for the Liberal Party of Australia’s website in 2013 for the best use of the Internet by an international campaign.

From 1998–2000, Shane worked as a motion graphic designer for ESPN Outdoors doing show opens and graphics for lumberjack, fishing, and Outdoor Games competitions.

Shane has held many titles from Web Designer to Motion Graphic Artist to Design Director, to his most recent, Chief Creative Officer at Engage in Alexandria, VA. Perhaps his most cherished title however is “Poppy” to his five beautiful daughters who reside with Shane and his wife in Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee, where he is building a moat full of alligators to protect them.

His technical skills include Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, CSS, HTML, print design, color theory, typography, and UI/UX design.
